Roots & Shoots is seeking youth leaders!

Are your youth members committed to the Roots & Shoots philosophy?

New England Roots & Shoots is seeking four highly motivated high school aged youth to become members of the New England Youth Leadership Council (NEYLC). NEYLC members participate in the Roots & Shoots Youth Leadership Initiative, a wonderful opportunity for youth to gain training, tools and opportunities to develop into community leaders who can create positive local and global change. NEYLC members:

  • Serve a two year term, with an average time commitment of 5-15 hours per month.
  • Help promote national and regional campaigns such as Rebirth the Earth: Trees for Tomorrow and Peace Through the Arts.
  • Have possible opportunities for regional, national and/or international travel.
  • Plan and participate in regional events, conferences and summits.

Calling Kids Under 13!

Submit your projects to the Cartoon Network!

MEgTV and Cartoon Network are searching for kids across the country who are environmentally savvy and active in their communities. We are inviting submissions from kids primarily between the ages of six and twelve, and all submissions must be received by Monday, May 12. Cartoon Network will select six nominees and then online, kids will vote for their favorite project. Cartoon Network will then help take the efforts of the finalist or finalists to the next level. Here are some further specifics:

--Kids (ages 6-12 ) who are currently involved in an environmentally-friendly project or program in the United States of America (USA).

- Each should embody and exhibit through their environmental involvement, character, and/or personality most or all of the qualities below:

· A sense of adventure and discovery

· A sense of fun, excitement and exploration

· A sense of commitment and dedication to their project or program

· The ability to inspire, motivate and to be a role-model to others
