However, through an exciting new alliance, Roots & Shoots and the Kenmore® Brand are out to show that both young people and household appliances play an important role in conserving natural resources and preserving our environment. Roots & Shoots is excited to announce that it is teaming up with the Kenmore Brand to launch a new Kenmore Elite® high-efficiency dishwasher.
As part of the alliance, Sears® is featuring the Roots & Shoots program in its stores and urging its customers to join Roots & Shoots as a way to make a difference in their communities. In November, Roots & Shoots members will represent Roots & Shoots at Sears stores, distributing program information, sharing their Roots & Shoots projects and talking about home conservation.
Not only that but young Roots & Shoots members have the opportunity to shape their family’s energy consumption through a special online home energy program called "10 Simple Actions." By doing more and using less, kids can help conserve water and energy at home. Simple, right?
One more cool thing about this new alliance: For every Kenmore Elite® Dishwasher with the Ultra Wash® HE Wash System sold at Sears stores between the dates of October 28, 2007 and November 7, 2007, a $25 donation* will be made to Roots & Shoots. This dishwasher is ENERGY STAR® qualified and uses 34 percent less energy and 41 percent less water than seven- to 10-year-old dishwashers
