Roots & Shoots goes to the Museum of Science!

The exhibit Discovering Chimpanzees, the Remarkable World of Jane Goodall has come to the Museum of Science in Boston. Roots & Shoots groups were invited to participate in the Press Preview on Thursday, May 31, before the exhibit opened to the public! They were interviewed by the press about their Roots & Shoots projects. After the interview, the groups enjoyed free admission to the exhibit and to the film Jane Goodall’s Wild Chimpanzees in the Omni Theatre.

If you’re in the area, go over to the exhibit! Discovering Chimpanzees will remain at the museum until August 28.You’ll have the opportunity to climb into a chimp nest perched among tree branches, record your own chimp call and try your hand at termite fishing! See Dr. Goodall’s tent and learn about chimp behaviors, and even watch a life-size video of her talking about Roots & Shoots!

For more information on the exhibit, visit the Museum of Science website here!

Members of Planet Ottoson, a Roots & Shoots group from Arlington for middle schoolers, tried out the "chimp legs" and declared the exhibit "really cool." We haven't seen the IMAX movie yet, though.
